Samba Copa Mundial: Football History at Your Feet

adidas recently launched its new line of Copa Mundial football boots with the "Samba" color update. This gives the Copas - traditionally black and white shoes - a radically revamped, more lively look.

The vibrant Samba colorways are inspired by Brazil and all the liveliness and fun associated with the country and its people. These colors were used late last year in the "Samba Pack", which was a relaunch of the top football boots of adidas in the same vivid colors. The adizero F50, Predator, Nitrocharge and 11Pro were all part of that pack. Now it's the Copa Mundial's turn to get modernized.

It's great to see an exciting twist to a classic shoe. If you didn't know, the Copas were first released in 1982 and are actually the best-selling boots in football history. It has been worn by all-time greats like Franz Beckenbauer, Michel Platini, Zico & Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. So there's a lot of history in this shoe franchise and hopefully, more history is made with it at the 2014 World Cup.
