In the Portland vs Washington NBA game last night, you might have noticed some crazier-than-usual kicks on all-stars John Wall and Damian Lillard. They were sporting the limited edition adidas Crazy 1s that were part of the "Florist City" collection - a set of basketball gear meant to celebrate the coming of spring and honor the spring activities in both Portland and Washington. And boy, were they motivated to impress in these exclusive shoes as they each led their teams with double-double performances - Wall's 24 points and 14 assists was matched by Lillard's 23, 10 and 6 rebounds.
According to the press release from adidas:
"Damian's Rose City edition Crazy 1 pays homage to Portland's famous rose gardens and Rose Festival with a rose print on the upper and laces and green detailing mirrored after the flower's stem."
"Wall's Cherry Blossom edition Crazy 1 comes in time for fans to lace-up a pair for this year's Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, D.C. The cherry blossom print on the outsole and laces is contrasted with a grey upper designed to replicate the stone used in the monuments throughout the Nation's Capital."
"Socks feature a sublimated floral print and iconic Portland and D.C. landmarks while the sweatshirts designed in partnership with Portland based Bridge & Burn feature Wall and Lillard specific detailing on the sleeve."
"Fans can grab both Florist City edition Crazy 1s for $125 along with select collection items on March 19 at Compound Gallery and adidas.com."
The two young stars also dropped by Compound Gallery (107 NW 5th Ave.) in Portland and signed autographs to celebrate the launch of the collection. It's always a welcome sight to have two competitive, hungry guys take a break from the on court action and team up for the fans.
