adidas Originals released images of the EQT "Modern City" shoe line on their Facebook page recently to hype up the series' release on April 12.
The concept is actually something that keeps coming back, with adidas first introducing it in the 1980s. Take a popular shoe model and redesign it with a well-known city in mind and watch as residents and fans of the locale go crazy over it. It's a good formula and it's obviously still working.
This time, the brand is taking the retro EQT Running Support 93 silhouette and giving it a twist with designs inspired by popular cities in the world. Rio de Janeiro inspired the yellow colorway, Copenhagen a red one and New York's is black.
Your favorite city didn't make the list? Don't worry. adidas has dubbed this set "Part 1", so there should be more city-inspired designs to come soon. I just wonder if they'll run out of cities or colors first...
