Earlier this month, adidas released the new line of its Crazyquick 2 basketball shoes. The shoes were actually first worn at this year's All-Star Weekend, although that was just the black/pink colorway inspired by New Orleans. This new range includes the "John Wall" model, which is based on the colors of his team.
The release is timely seeing as how John Wall led his Washington Wizards to clinch a playoff berth just a few days ago. That's big news for the Wizards and their fans since they haven't been to the playoffs since 2008!
Yes, the Wizards have grown and gotten better (sure, they were also helped by a weak Eastern Conference this year, but still...) and this is largely tied in to John Wall's development as a player. He made his first All-Star appearance this year and even took home the Slam Dunk Trophy from that weekend. He's also averaging more points (19.8), assists (8.7) and steals (1.9) so far versus any other season. He never was in the talks of "best point guard in the NBA" before, but now, people are starting to include him in the discussions.
It's a career season for Wall so far. Let's hope they extend far into the playoff rounds so we can see more of his quick cuts, explosive dunks and yes, those crazy kicks.
