adidas Originals by Neighborhood unveils its Footwear Offer for Fall/Winter 2014

Further to the adidas Originals by Neighborhood lookbook release earlier this week, here is a closer look at some of the key footwear styles from the collection.

Brussel moc NBHD
Made from premium hairy suede, this khaki moccasin-come-sneaker takes inspiration from Native American footwear and the sportswear that made adidas famous. There is collaboration branding on the tongue, sockline and lateral heel, and there are also some hand-crafted beads to accentuate the Native American influence.

Superstar 80s NBHD
Taking direct inspiration from the iconic adidas Superstar silhouette, this NEIGHBORHOOD take on the shoe has dual branding on the tongue, sockliner and heel patch, available in black and print colourways.

Lace up boot NBHD
With both premium tan and black suede uppers, this shoe is inspired by the classic American officer boot. There is a perforated toe cap, while dual branding is evident throughout, on the tongue, sockliner and lateral heel.

New York NBHD
Made with both suede and nubuck in auburn and grey colourways, this shoe is inspired by American classic brogues yet also takes influence from an adidas running silhouette. Truly the best of both formal and sports footwear, the shoe features collaboration branding on the tongue, sock liner and heel patch, while three striped perforations can seen on the upper.

Country OG NBHD
Available in two colourways, this shoe takes dual inspiration from both the classic American brogue and the iconic adidas Country running silhouette. Branding wise, there is a nod to NEIGHBORHOOD and adidas on the tongue, sockliner and heel patch.

Background:

The relationship between adidas and Neighborhood is one with more than a decade of history. The heartbeat of Neighborhood is Shinsuke Takizawa, whose first recollections of adidas date back to the 1980s, when Run–D.M.C. made him aware of the iconic brand. "Sneakers became a fashion item" he explains, "It was all quite shocking!" Fast-forward to 2005, and the first marker for a fruitful relationship was put down when Takizawa and adidas worked on the Consortium project, creating a version of the Superstars favored by the aforementioned hop-hop trio. The partnership has grown from there, with Takizawa's cousin Kazuki Kuraishi also making his mark. It's a long-term relationship based on mutual respect for product, innovation and reputation. adidas has always admired Neighborhood and their story and held an appreciation for Shinsuke Takizawa's attention to detail, craftsmanship and sources of inspiration. "Creating a design that does not already exist was the original concept when we first worked together" says Shinsuke. "And still today, that same concept is at the core of our collaboration"
