adidas® Originals Releases Superstar 80s – Gonz Video Starring adidas skateboarding Global Pro Rider Mark Gonzales For the Superstar 80s by Gonz Collaboration Shoe

To accompany the launch of the Superstar 80s by Gonz, adidas Originals releases the SUPERSTAR 80s – GONZ video that features the cultural pioneer and adidas skateboarding pro team rider – Mark "The Gonz" Gonzales.

A free-form thinker and prolific artist, Gonz's body of work ranges from globally acclaimed poetry books, to sculptures and paintings. He has appropriated the urban landscape to express a new form of artistry on four wheels and has redefined the ambitions of new generations of skateboarders and creatives for years to come.

In the video, Gonz details the inspiration behind his take of the classic shoe through passionate storytelling, rich with nostalgia and visuals to match. The Superstar 80s by Gonz entices the wearer to leave their unique mark on an all white leather upper that serves as blank canvas for customization. For others who crave simplicity, the clean design is accented with deliberate, yet subtle touches that include a white-on-white lateral reading 'GONZALES', debossed hand lettering on the tongue and a signature character on the heel tab.

On February 12, Gonz will also be hosting a launch party at the Superstar Experience in New York City. All visitors who buy a pair of the Superstar 80s by Gonz will skip the line to meet the skateboarder himself who will be drawing and painting custom adidas t-shirts for fans. Launch event at 138 Wooster St. NYC from 5pm – 6pm.

The Superstar 80s by Gonz will be available at select retailers worldwide on Feb 9.
